Our Church exists to love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
As a church, our life together is informed by the great commandment and the great commission issued by Jesus Christ (Matthew 22:37-40 & 28:18-20). The statement you have just read holds together these twin callings. Our prayerful hope is that it will help us engage, embrace, and embody all that Jesus wants of us as we live for God’s glory. We are convinced that being a disciple of Jesus is not passive, but strengthened by His grace, we participate in God’s unfolding gospel story.
- We love God by growing in our knowledge of Him and His saving work. We understand that this will lead us to worshipful obedience to God’s infallible Word.
- We love people by learning to imitate Jesus more and more. Discovering how to help, care, encourage, forbear, forgive and comfort those in need of hope and care is love in action.
- We make disciples by prayerfully proclaiming the powerful gospel message. We believe that Jesus Christ lived in perfect obedience to the Father, was crucified for our sin, was resurrected by the power of the Holy Spirit, ascended into heaven, and will one day return in judgment and make all things new. This gospel message transforms people’s lives.
