Judgement Begins at the House of God

Readings: Psalm 17:1-15, Matthew 11:20-24, Hebrews 12:1-11, Amos 2:4-5

Amos prophesied God’s judgement against the nations around Israel in increasing orders of proximity and filial relationship. Judah was led astray by false gods and lies which had deceived their ancestors. The other nations had rebelled against the revelation of God in nature, but Judah had the clear revelation of God’s word from his own mouth and from those He had sent to them. Considering these judgments must make us consider how we and out culture has responded to having God’s reveled word.
